Once water has been purified and chlorinated at the water treatment works, it needs to continue its journey to your home which may be many kilometres away. Clean water is pumped into an underground network of pipes and service reservoirs and is not seen again until it reaches your tap. This is the water distribution system. It's our responsibility to make sure you have a constant water supply. We want you to be able to use as much water as you need, but it is still precious and every drop counts.
